I am a Bioinformatics Ph.D. Candidate at Boston University. I recieved my B.S and M.S. degrees in Statistics from Brigham Young University in 2020.
As a member of Dr. W. Evan Johnson's lab, my current research is focused on creating open-source methods and tools for longitudinal microbiome analysis. I'm working on an R package that simplifies this analysis process. I'm also looking at several contexts for changes in the nasopharyngeal microbiome in response to chronic disease.

I helped create and currently maintain two packages on Bioconductor:
The TBSignatureProfiler: An easy-to-use R package for analysis of RNA-seq data using gene signatures for tuberculosis presence, risk, progression, treatment failure, and other disease states.
MetaScope: A complete R-based 16S, metagenomic, and metatranscriptomic profiling package that can accurately identify the composition of microbes at a strain-level resolution within a sample.

A Boston University lecture hall. I have never had the pleasure of setting food inside its doors, but it sure looks more inviting than the LSEB.
